Agadir – Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has extended the suspension of its flights to Dubai and Doha until March 31, citing ongoing instability in the Middle East as the reason for the continued disruption.
In a statement shared on its official X page, RAM emphasized that it is “closely monitoring the situation to ensure a safe resumption of operations as soon as conditions allow.”
The announcement follows the escalation of regional tensions, which have led to the closure of certain airspaces and limited flight operations in affected areas.
The airline advised passengers impacted by the cancellations not to go directly to airports. Instead, RAM urged travelers to contact the airline’s customer service center or the original point of sale for their bookings to ensure their flights are rearranged efficiently.
The company also encouraged passengers to update their contact information and check their flight status through the “Manage My Booking” section on the RAM website.
This decision comes two weeks after the US and Israel launched an air campaign against Iran, prompting a dangerously escalating regional war that has disrupted global energy markets and regional air travel.
Major airlines including KLM, British Airways, and Air Canada have similarly slashed or adjusted schedules to Gulf destinations such as Dubai, Doha, and Abu Dhabi, citing safety concerns and occasional government directives.
The extended suspension underscores the significant impact of regional tensions on international travel, with airlines around the globe adjusting schedules and routes amid ongoing uncertainty.
The disruptions may persist as long as the conflict continues and airspace remains unstable, impacting airline schedules as well as travel routes and connections for passengers traveling between Africa, Europe, and the Gulf.
