Rabat – FIFA has introduced the official music album for the 2026 World Cup, kicking things off with its debut single, “Lighter.”

Bringing together Jelly Roll and Carin León, with production by CirKUT, the track reflects the cross-cultural energy of a tournament to be hosted across Canada, the United States, and Mexico.

With pop, country, and regional Mexican influences, “Lighter” offers a sound that mirrors the diversity of North America.

Conceived as more than just a soundtrack, the album aims to extend the World Cup experience beyond football, using music to capture the emotion and unity that define the global event.

FIFA President Giani Infantino highlighted the role of music in translating the passion of the game into a universal language, describing “Lighter” as the starting point of a wider musical journey tied to the competition.

Both artists emphasized the global reach of the project, with Jelly Roll noting the chance to engage new audiences, while Carin León underscored the pride in representing the host nations through music.

The release comes alongside an expanded 2026 tournament format featuring 48 teams, with the album aiming to reflect that same scale through a wide mix of sounds and international voices.

Set to be the largest edition in the tournament’s history, the 2026 FIFA World Cup will feature 48 national teams for the first time, expanding its global reach and marking a new chapter for the competition.

With three host countries, it also stands out as the first World Cup to be jointly organized on such a scale, reinforcing its identity as a truly international event.
