Rabat – 1337 Coding School, the innovative coding education program founded in Morocco, achieved a major milestone by being ranked #1 in the world on the schools leaderboard of the “CodinGame Winter Challenge 2026: SNAKEBYTE.”

This global achievement highlights the technical skill and competitive coding talent of 1337’s community on the international stage.

About the challenge

The CodinGame Winter Challenge is an online programming competition hosted on the CodinGame platform.

This year, the event took place from March 10-24, open to programmers of all levels.

In this event, developers from around the world compete by writing programs (often called bots) that play a strategy game, in this case, SnakeByte, and are ranked based on performance.

During the challenge, competitors submit code in languages like C++, Python, Java, and others to solve programming and game‑strategy problems, trying to reach the top of solo, company, and school leaderboards.

More than 16,000+ programmers registered for the SNAKEBYTE challenge, making it a large and highly competitive global event.

1337’s victory

In the schools category of the Winter Challenge, 1337 Coding School stood out above thousands of other institutions from around the world, earning first place in the global rankings.

This means 1337’s students collectively scored higher than other schools’ participants in this programming event.

Behind this ranking isn’t a single breakthrough, but a process: hours of learning, experimenting, failing, iterating, and continuously improving. The result reflects the essence of the 1337 model: learning by doing, progressing alongside peers, and constantly pushing one’s own limits.

The leaderboard tracks collective performance, which shows not just individual skill but also how active and strong an institution’s student base is in competitive programming.

Why this matters

Competitions like the CodinGame Winter Challenge offer programmers a chance to sharpen real coding and problem‑solving skills in a timed, competitive environment. Participants are also able to work with game‑style algorithm challenges, which combine logic, optimization, and strategy while earning global recognition.

For 1337, earning the top spot worldwide emphasizes the quality of the school’s learners, their preparation, and their passion for computer science. It’s also a proud moment for the coding community in Morocco and beyond.
