Agadir – Facebook and Instagram users reported widespread access problems on Sunday morning, with thousands saying they were unable to log into their accounts as technical issues affected the platforms.
Many Facebook users said they encountered an “Account Temporarily Unavailable” message when attempting to access the platform through web browsers, preventing them from reaching their profiles.
According to outage monitoring website Downdetector, Facebook received thousands of problem reports during the disruption. The platform recorded 5,368 reports at around 08:52 am UK time before the number dropped to 1,380 shortly after, indicating that some services may have started recovering while issues persisted for others.
Several users reported that Facebook was inaccessible through desktop browsers, while some said the mobile application continued to work normally.
Instagram users also reported difficulties, with many saying the application was not functioning properly. Reports included problems loading content and accessing the platform.
The cause of the outage remains unclear, and Meta, the company that operates Facebook and Instagram, had not issued an official statement regarding the disruption at the time of publication.
The incident comes after similar service interruptions affecting major online platforms in recent months, often drawing attention to the growing reliance on social media networks for communication, business, and information sharing.
