Moroccan football is guaranteed a finalist in the CAF Champions League, but first, it must deliver a decisive ending to an exciting derby between AS FAR and RS Berkane.

CAF has framed this semi-final second leg as a battle of styles and momentum, with the tie finely balanced despite the scoreline.

AS FAR come into the return leg with a 2-0 advantage from the first match in Rabat. This lead shows their consistency. They are currently on an eight-game unbeaten run in the competition and boast one of the most solid defensive records this season. But the tie is far from over.

Control vs comeback

If AS FAR’s strength lies in control, Berkane’s hope lies in chaos.

The second leg, played at the Berkane Municipal Stadium, shifts the pressure. Berkane are unbeaten at home in the competition and have conceded just once, a record that keeps belief alive despite the two-goal deficit.

CAF has pointed out this contrast clearly: AS FAR rely on defensive discipline and structure, and Berkane’s identity is built on attacking intensity with quick transitions, set pieces, and the ability to create danger in bursts.

That difference in approach will define the match.

For Berkane, the objective is simple but demanding: score early, build momentum, and take risks without losing balance.

For AS FAR, it’s about managing the tempo and avoiding the kind of moments that can quickly shift a knockout tie.

Both teams have treated this like a final.

AS FAR held their last training session in Berkane with a clear focus on tactical discipline and mental readiness. Coach Alexandre Santos and his staff are expected to rely on a structured game plan built around protecting their advantage.

On the other side, RS Berkane, led by Mouine Chaabani, have prepared with intensity, focusing on attacking patterns and physical sharpness.

Despite the two-goal gap, this remains a fragile situation.

One goal changes everything. An early breakthrough could turn the stadium into a factor and shift the entire dynamic of the tie.

That’s what makes this derby so compelling.

AS FAR have the edge. RS Berkane have the momentum of playing at home.

Kickoff is set for Saturday at 20:00 local time. Only one will reach the final.
