Rabat – AS FAR’s qualification for the CAF Champions League final against RS Berkane yesterday, their first since 1985, has sparked strong reactions from the squad, with several players vowing to give everything to secure the trophy for Rabat and Moroccan fans.

Anas Bach spoke after the match about the difficulty of the team’s journey, stressing that the group will give everything to keep the title in the capital. “We will do our best to make our fans happy and leave the cup in Rabat,” he said.

Bach also thanked his teammates for their sacrifices, the coaching staff for their support, and the fans who followed the team throughout the campaign. “Our path was not easy, but now we have the chance to fight for the trophy,” he added.

Veteran defender Younes Abdelhamid shared the same determination, expressing pride in reaching the final and noting that the entire city had been waiting for this moment.

“All of Rabat was expecting this qualification. We are proud and happy, but the job is not finished. We still have two matches to play, and we will fight to win the Champions League,” Abdelahmid said.

Abdelhamid praised Mamelodi Sundowns as a team with great experience, but insisted that AS FAR are ready for the challenge. “Every team is tough, whether Sundowns, Hilal, Berkane, or Young Africans. We will give everything to win,” he concluded.

Forward Ahmed Hammoudan also called for national support ahead of the final. “Congratulations to everyone at AS FAR. This is a big achievement, but the most important part is still ahead. We hope all Moroccans will stand behind us in the final,” he told Arryadia.

Hammoudan hailed the team’s fighting spirit against Berkane, saying their experience helped them reach the final.

“Sundowns will be a difficult opponent, but AS FAR today is not the same as yesterday. Any team that faces us will take us seriously. We are confident, and we will fight to give the title to all Moroccans,” he added.

AS FAR reached the final despite losing 1-0 to RS Berkane in the second leg, advancing thanks to their 2-0 win in the first leg.

They will now face South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns on May 17, with the return leg set for May 24 at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
