Rabat – Morocco renewed its alignment with Arab partners on Tuesday as Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita joined an emergency ministerial meeting of the League of Arab States, held by videoconference to address tensions linked to Iran.

The session took place against a backdrop of recurring attacks that several Arab countries attribute to Tehran.

Ministers reviewed the political and security implications of these developments to shape a common Arab response that defends state sovereignty and limits further destabilization.

Morocco used the meeting to restate a consistent diplomatic line. Rabat condemned what it described as attacks against Arab states and reiterated full support for measures taken by these countries to protect their territory and citizens within the framework of international law.

The position reflects guidance from King Mohammed VI, whose foreign policy places regional stability among its central priorities.

Morocco also pointed to a narrow diplomatic opening. Authorities welcomed the recent truce between the US and Iran, as well as the start of negotiations between the two sides.

Rabat expressed hope that dialogue could lead to a political settlement that reduces tensions and limits the risk of further confrontation.

The meeting came at the request of Bahrain, which currently holds the rotating presidency of the Arab League Council at ministerial level, and reflects a broader effort among Arab states to coordinate positions at a moment that mixes caution with guarded expectations following recent diplomatic signals between Washington and Tehran.
