Rabat – King Mohammed VI and the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, have discussed bilateral ties in a phone call, where both leaders emphasized their countries’ commitment to boost cooperation at all levels.

“Both leaders affirmed their commitment to continued consultation and coordination while strengthening cooperation between the two countries in light of the challenges the region is facing,” the UAE’s state news agency WAM reported today.

The monarch and the UAE President discussed other regional and international issues, including the war in the Middle East, and their serious implications for regional and international security and stability.

King Mohammed VI has frequently reiterated Morocco’s commitment to continue to support Arab states amid the Middle East war between Iran, the US, and Israel.

Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, conveyed Rabat’s position on Tuesday during an emergency ministerial meeting of the League of Arab States held by videoconference.

In the meeting, Bourita renewed Morocco’s consistent position, condemning Iranian attacks against Arab states.

Morocco also reiterated its full support for measures taken by these countries to protect their territory and citizens.

The North African country also backs dialogue for a political settlement, seeking to address ongoing tensions and limit the risk of further confrontation.

The US has announced the extension of the ceasefire. US President Donald Trump confirmed the decision, stating that this measure will remain in effect until Iran submits its proposal with conditions for ending the war.

The announcement came amid reports that Iran continues to attack ships.

Reports stated that at least two container ships were hit by gunfire in the Strait of Hormuz hours after Trump’s announcement.

Iran has been threatening that the Strait of Hormuz would be closed until the US lifts its blockade.
