Rabat – A new chapter in Arab basketball cooperation has been opened following the signing of a strategic partnership between the UAE Basketball Federation and the Royal Moroccan Basketball Federation (FRMBB). The agreement focuses on developing the sport in both countries while fostering the exchange of technical and administrative expertise.

The deal was signed on the sidelines of the Basketball Africa League (BAL) currently taking place in Rabat, highlighting a broader push to strengthen regional sporting collaboration and deepen ties between Arab nations.

As part of the agreement, both federations announced the launch of an annual event titled the ‘UAE-Morocco Super Cup’. The fixture will bring together the top basketball champions from each country, creating a competitive platform designed to elevate performance levels while building stronger connections between players and fans. The match is expected to become a flagship event on the regional basketball calendar.

In an official statement, the UAE Basketball Federation confirmed that the partnership will extend beyond competition. It includes advanced training programs for coaches and referees, friendly matches between clubs and national teams, and joint training camps.

The two sides also plan to provide logistical support to one another during international competitions, a move aimed at enhancing overall performance and development.

This collaboration signals a significant step forward in the growth of basketball across the region, combining resources and expertise to raise standards and create new opportunities for the sport in both countries.
