Rabat – Moroccan international Abde Ezzalzouli has been voted Real Betis’ best player for April, a recognition of his standout form in recent weeks.
The winger delivered decisive performances throughout the month, scoring three goals in key matches, underscoring his growing importance to the Andalusian side.
Ezzalzouli found the net against Girona in La Liga, struck again in the Europa League quarter‑final second leg against Sporting Braga, and added another goal against Osasuna.
His pace, direct dribbling, and ability to break defensive lines gave Betis a crucial edge in tight contests. Fans and analysts alike praised his impact, noting how his energy lifted the team during a demanding month.
Ezzalzouli joined Real Betis in the summer of 2023 after leaving Barcelona, where he had made 14 senior appearances.
At Betis, he quickly established himself as a regular starter. Now 24, he has developed into one of the club’s most influential players.
This season alone, he has scored 12 goals and provided 12 assists in 38 matches across all competitions, making him one of the most productive wingers in La Liga.
His consistency marks a clear step forward from earlier years, when his decision‑making was sometimes questioned.

He has matured at Betis, reducing errors while maintaining the flair that makes him dangerous in one‑on‑one situations.
His defensive work has also improved, with key interventions in matches such as the draw against Real Madrid, showing he contributes beyond attack.
Ezzalzouli’s performances have not gone unnoticed beyond Betis. According to reports from Mundo Deportivo and Foot Africa, Liverpool are ready to pay his $60 million release clause as they look for a successor to Mohamed Salah, who will leave Anfield this summer.
Paris Saint‑Germain and Napoli have also expressed interest, while Barcelona could benefit financially if a deal happens as the Catalan club still holds a 30 percent sell‑on clause.
Betis, however, does not appear to be interested in selling their star winger below the clause. The club have rejected previous offers and insist Ezzalzouli will only leave if the full amount of the clause is met. His contract runs until 2029, giving Betis strong leverage in negotiations.
