Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has officially been left out of Olympique de Marseille’s squad for Sunday’s Ligue 1 match against Le Havre AC following a major disciplinary incident at the club’s training center.
The episode reportedly took place on Thursday night during Marseille’s punitive “mise au vert” at La Commanderie, a training camp imposed by club management after the team’s poor recent results.
According to reports from L’Équipe and RMC Sport, what initially started as a relaxed atmosphere between players eventually spiraled out of control.
Aubameyang is accused of spraying Bob Tahri with a fire extinguisher during the evening. Tahri, a former high-level athlete who now works within Marseille’s sporting structure, was reportedly responsible for enforcing curfew rules during the training camp.
French media reports also claim that Tahri’s bed and personal belongings were damaged during the incident after being hit by the extinguisher spray.
The situation was immediately viewed as serious by Marseille’s leadership.
Club officials, including sporting director Alban Juster and president Stéphane Richard, reportedly decided the behavior was unacceptable and moved quickly to sanction the Gabon international ahead of Ligue 1 Matchday 33.
As a result, Aubameyang has been excluded from the squad for the trip to Le Havre.
Reports in France say the striker later apologized following the incident, but the disciplinary decision was maintained.
The affair adds another layer of tension to an already chaotic end to the season for Marseille, with the club struggling both on the pitch and internally during recent weeks.
