Rabat – Amine, a Moroccan supporter of AS FAR, is in a difficult medical condition after a serious accident during the first leg of the CAF Champions League final against Mamelodi Sundowns in South Africa.

According to Elbotola, Amin fell from the stadium’s upper tier while watching the match on Sunday night.

The fall left him with multiple fractures in his hand, shoulder, rib cage, and arm. He required urgent medical attention and remains under close care in Pretoria.

Doctors say Amin will need specialized treatment given the severity of his injuries. Moroccan officials are expected to intervene, with the embassy in South Africa monitoring his case.

If necessary, a medical aircraft may be arranged to transfer him to Morocco for further treatment.

The incident occurred during a tense evening at Loftus Versfeld Stadium. Sundowns won the match 1‑0, but the game was overshadowed by crowd trouble and security clashes.

Videos showed Moroccan fans being assaulted by South African security, with several cases of fainting and injuries reported.

Fans condemn violence

AS FAR’s ultras group Curva Ch issued a strong statement denouncing the treatment of Moroccan supporters.

“We condemn the attacks on our fans by South African security, which caused injuries and fainting. These scenes have nothing to do with the spirit of sport or continental competition,” the statement read.

The group also criticized the double standards in how Moroccan fans are treated abroad compared to the hospitality offered to foreign supporters in Morocco.

They demanded accountability and protection for Moroccan fans, both inside and outside the country.

The second leg of the final will be played on Sunday, May 24, at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, with kickoff at 8 p.m local time (GMT+1).

AS FAR will need to overturn the 1‑0 deficit to claim the title, while supporters continue to call for justice and safety after the troubling scenes in Pretoria.
