Marrakech – European cloud solutions leader Cegid has officially inaugurated Cegid Atlas, a new center of excellence located on the 12th and 13th floors of the Cross Tower within Casablanca Finance City (CFC). The opening took place on Tuesday, positioning Morocco as a strategic operational platform serving the group’s European and international markets.

The center launches with 240 employees recruited since June 2025, and is structured around four core areas: client support, a Delivery & Services unit handling cloud deployment, integration, training, and post-sales support, a research and development division, and back-office functions covering finance, human resources, IT systems, and operational administration.

Cegid Atlas is not designed as “a simple operational extension,” the company noted, but rather as a facility “fully integrated” into the group’s global organization, carrying “high value-added missions” tied directly to its main business divisions, particularly Retail and Enterprise.

Bruno Vaffier, Cegid’s CEO, described Casablanca as “a strategic location complementing” the company’s international footprint and “strengthening its operational capacities” for European and global markets. The center, he added, represents “a new chapter – structuring, lasting, and fully integrated” into Cegid’s broader ambitions.

The choice of CFC indicates Morocco’s growing appeal for international technology firms seeking qualified talent in engineering, software development, and advanced digital services.

Said Ibrahimi, Director General of Casablanca Finance City Authority, characterized Cegid’s decision as confirmation of “the quality, depth, and competitiveness of the Moroccan talent pool in the fields of engineering, development, and programming.”

Ibrahimi also pointed to the move as evidence of CFC’s capacity “to attract international service providers with high added value, particularly in the sectors of technology, research and development, and high-expertise services.”

Tam Kaghat, President of Cegid Atlas, identified Morocco’s workforce as central to the project’s rationale. The country, she noted, offers “a pool of qualified, committed talents capable of evolving rapidly in demanding technological environments.” Moroccan employees, Kaghat added, already represent “a key asset in the development of the group’s international expertise and capacities.”

The rapid scaling of staff at the center reflects what the company views as both the depth of Morocco’s local skills market and the country’s readiness to host technology operations aligned with international standards.

The inauguration falls within a broader transformation phase for the Lyon-founded group. Established in 1983, Cegid now operates on a fully SaaS model, distributes its solutions across 130 countries, and serves more than one million clients. The company reported annual revenue of €1.069 billion in 2025.

Cegid Atlas is part of the company’s Forward.ai strategy, which places generative artificial intelligence at the core of its product development. It also fits within the group’s Iberia, LATAM & Africa zone strategy, which designates Casablanca as a regional hub complementing existing operations elsewhere.

Cegid’s roots in Morocco date back to 2008, when the group first established a commercial office in Casablanca. That office grew to serve over 1,300 clients across 20 African countries, with Morocco alone accounting for 50% of Cegid’s client base on the continent.

In 2016, the group converted its Casablanca bureau into a full subsidiary, grouping its distribution, development, and integration operations under one entity. Cegid Atlas now represents the latest and most ambitious expansion of that nearly two-decade-long Moroccan presence.

With this latest addition, Casablanca continues to consolidate its role as a regional platform for technology services and the digital economy, as international firms increasingly seek to combine innovation capacity, technical expertise, and operational competitiveness in a single location.
