Rabat – The Moroccan women’s national football team will take on Cameroon’s women’s national football team in an international friendly match on June 5, in Beauvais, France, as both nations continue preparations for the upcoming 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The match is expected to serve as an important test for both sides ahead of the continental tournament, which will take place from July 25 to August 16, in Morocco.

A real test for Cameroon

According to Cameroonian media reports, Cameroon finalized the friendly as part of its pre-tournament training camp scheduled from June 1 to June 9. The clash against Morocco is expected to be the highlight of the camp as the Indomitable Lionesses prepare to compete against one of Africa’s strongest women’s national teams.

For Morocco, the encounter offers another opportunity to study tactics ahead of the WAFCON, which will be held on home soil. The Atlas Lionesses have emerged as one of the continent’s most competitive sides in recent years, especially after their historic run to the final of the 2022 WAFCON and qualification for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The friendly will also allow both coaching staffs to assess player fitness, strengthen tactical cohesion, and test different options ahead of the tournament.

WAFCON details:

    • Host country: Morocco
    • Tournament dates: July 25 to August 16
    • Organizer: Confederation of African Football
