Rabat – AS FAR continue their preparation for the decisive CAF Champions League final against South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns, scheduled for Sunday at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
Coach Alexander Santos led a training session on Wednesday as the Moroccan side sharpened its focus ahead of the biggest match of their session.
Another session is planned for Thursday at the club’s academy, with media access allowed from 4:15 p.m.
The final comes after Sundowns edged the first leg 1‑0 in Pretoria, leaving AS FAR needing a strong home performance to overturn the deficit.
The match will be played in front of a packed stadium, with more than 65,000 fans expected after tickets sold out quickly.
The atmosphere is set to be electric, with AS FAR relying on their supporters to push them toward a win.
On Saturday, Santos will hold the traditional pre‑match press conference at 11 a.m, joined by team captain Mohamed Rabie Hrimat.
The squad will then complete their final training session later that evening at 6:00 p.m.
AS FAR are not only fighting to overturn Sundowns’ lead but also aiming to secure their second CAF Champions League trophy.
The club last lifted the continental title in 1985, and a win on Sunday would mark a historic return to the summit of African football.
Victory would also raise Morocco’s total to eight CAF Champions League titles, joining Raja Casablanca and Wydad Casablanca, who each have three, alongside AS FAR’s single trophy.
If AS FAR win, they would become part of Morocco’s elite trio of champions, confirming the country’s dominance in African club football.
Players and staff have stressed concentration and discipline, aware that Sundowns bring experience and quality.
