Fez – The African Development Bank Group has approved €200 million in financing to support Morocco’s “Cap Compétences 2030” program, a major initiative aimed at improving vocational training and helping more young people enter the job market.
According to Lareleve, the results-based financing program will focus on strengthening the quality, relevance, and diversity of vocational education across the country.
The project also aims to modernize training services through digital tools, expand large-scale learning systems, and improve pathways to employment.
The “Cap Compétences 2030” program is built around three main pillars: developing skills and strategic partnerships, creating more inclusive training programs adapted to business needs, and accelerating digital transformation while reinforcing institutional and operational capacities.
The initiative is also expected to strengthen existing training systems and improve their efficiency and national coverage.
Through the project, the bank hopes to widen access to diversified training opportunities and improve professional integration for beneficiaries.
In a statement, Achraf Tarsim, head of the African Development Bank’s office in Morocco, said the program is aligned with Morocco’s national employment roadmap for 2025-2030 as well as the bank’s broader strategic priorities.
He said the shared objective is to make better use of the country’s demographic potential to support value creation and job opportunities, particularly for young people and women.
The African Development Bank added that the program is being carried out in close coordination with technical and financial partners in order to strengthen public policy support and ensure greater complementarity between different initiatives.
The project reflects the bank’s long-term commitment to Morocco in the areas of human development, employment, and social inclusion.
It also builds on a broader portfolio of results-driven operations supporting structural reforms in the labor market and vocational training sector.
Since its creation, the African Development Bank Group has mobilized more than €15 billion in Morocco across strategic sectors including education, health, employment, infrastructure, energy, and governance.
