Things have been moving fast for Oussama Targhaline lately, and the Moroccan midfielder now has another achievement to add to his growing season.

Targhaline has officially been named Feyenoord’s Player of the Month for April 2026, a reward celebrating a run of performances that saw him become increasingly influential in the middle of the pitch for the Dutch side.

For the 24-year-old, the award recognizes a month in which he quietly made himself one of Feyenoord’s most reliable players.

April brought several important moments. Against Volendam on April 5, Targhaline started and played a key role in a hard-fought 0-0 draw. A week later, he again brought energy and physical presence in midfield during Feyenoord’s 1-1 result against NEC Nijmegen.

Then came his biggest contribution of the month. In Feyenoord’s 3-1 victory over FC Groningen on April 25, Targhaline delivered an assist and produced one of his most complete displays, continuing a stretch that strengthened his place in the team.

But numbers only tell part of the story. His influence throughout the month extended beyond attacking contributions. Whether through his movement, passing, or ability to win duels in midfield, Targhaline increasingly looked like a player growing in confidence every week.

And people are starting to notice. Since arriving from Le Havre, the Atlas Lion has adapted quickly in Rotterdam and is now viewed as an important piece in Feyenoord’s lineup. His performances have reportedly attracted interest ahead of the summer transfer window.

Among the clubs linked in recent weeks are Olympique Lyonnais and Stade Brestois 29, both said to be monitoring his progress.

The timing is also notable for Morocco. With World Cup preparations intensifying and competition for places becoming stronger, players entering camp know every performance matters. Targhaline’s club season is ending with momentum at exactly the right time.

A few months ago, he was still settling into a new club and a new league. Now he is leaving April with an individual trophy and perhaps a growing reputation beyond the Netherlands too.
