Rabat – The seventh edition of the open days organized by the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in Rabat attracted more than 3.05 million visitors between May 18 and 24.
The event recorded its highest attendance since the launch of the initiative, reflecting growing public interest in the annual communication event organized by Morocco’s national police.
Due to the large crowds, the event was extended by two additional days, May 23 and 24, to allow more visitors to attend.
According to the statement, the open days welcomed students from 2,000 public and private schools, alongside 1,472 civil society associations and representatives from 217 media outlets, including television channels, radio stations, newspapers, and digital platforms.
The security institution said the exhibition space covered more than 13 hectares and was designed as a complete “security city” featuring several thematic sections focused on technology, intervention units, identity documents, scientific police work, crime prevention, and the history of Moroccan policing.
One of the main attractions was the presentation of the smart patrol systems “Aman” and “Madar,” as well as the electronic security mission system “TACTIS.” The DGSN described these tools as examples of the growing use of artificial intelligence and digital technologies in police work.
Visitors also explored displays of old police vehicles, historical uniforms, communication equipment, and technological tools used by Moroccan police over the past 70 years.
The event included entertainment and educational activities for children, including virtual reality experiences, horse riding shows, police dog demonstrations, and performances by special units and the police music band.
The DGSN also organized scientific discussions and conferences on issues such as school safety, border security, recruitment reforms, and fighting economic and financial crimes.
The event also hosted a blood donation campaign in partnership with the Moroccan Agency for Blood and Its Derivatives, attracting more than 1,000 donors.
The open days concluded with a ceremony at the new headquarters of the DGSN with the participation of government, military, and judicial officials, as well as Morocco national football team coach and several players.
The DGSN said the annual event is part of its strategy to strengthen community policing and improve communication and transparency with the public.
