Rabat – Morocco’s national team head coach Mohamed Ouahbi has granted star defender Achraf Hakimi special permission to delay his arrival at the Atlas Lions’ training camp currently taking place at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maâmora.
According to Almountakhab, the decision allows Hakimi to remain with Paris Saint-Germain as the French giants continue celebrating their historic UEFA Champions League triumph, a great achievement for the club and a memorable moment in the Moroccan international’s career.
The arrival’s date
Hakimi is expected to arrive at Morocco’s training camp on Monday evening. Upon his arrival, the right-back will undergo a comprehensive medical assessment and physical evaluation to determine his fitness levels before officially rejoining group training sessions with the rest of the national team squad.
Meanwhile, Morocco’s technical staff has reportedly decided to exclude Hakimi from the upcoming friendly match against Madagascar. The move is intended to protect the player from physical fatigue following a demanding club season and to ensure he receives sufficient rest ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The decision reflects Morocco’s determination to have one of its most influential players at peak physical and mental condition for the global tournament, where expectations remain high following the national team’s recent successes on the international stage.
