Rabat – The National Company of Radio and Television (SNRT) has announced that it secured the broadcasting rights for Morocco’s FIFA World Cup 2026 matches.
SNRTNews reported that the company secured broadcasting rights following negotiations with beIN Sports, the rights holder in the MENA region.
Morocco’s national TV expressed satisfaction with the deal, stating that the move reaffirms “SNRT’s commitment to covering major international sporting events and bringing the world’s most important competitions closer to Moroccan audiences.”
For SNRT, broadcasting Morocco’s World Cup games is expected to be a key feature of the network’s sports programming, amid popularity and interest in Morocco’s Atlas Lions among Moroccan fans locally and internationally.
SNRT is also deploying its teams across the US, Canada, and Mexico for on-site reports and analytical studio programs, the statement concluded.
Morocco’s World Cup journey will kick off on June 13 against Brazil as part of the group stage of the largest tournament worldwide. Both teams are placed in Group C alongside Haiti and Scotland.
Morocco will play its second match against Scotland on June 19, while on June 24, it will play against Haiti.
Ahead of its World Cup campaign, Morocco will play a friendly match against Madagascar today before taking on Norway on June 7.
Fans and international reports are all focused on Morocco, which made history at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar by becoming the first Arab and African team to reach the semi-finals under coach Walid Regragui.
Now Mohamed Ouahbi leads the squad, having called up 26 players, including key figures such as Achraf Hakimi and Yassine Bounou, alongside new faces determined to do their best and honor his call-up.
Ouahbi is also confident that Morocco has the largest talent pool capable of making history again, expressing satisfaction with all players who were selected and those who were not.
