The countdown to the 2026 FIFA World Cup is almost over, and the tournament’s 16 stadiums are preparing to welcome football fans from around the globe. Hosted across the United States, Mexico, and Canada, this edition, the 23rd edition, will be the largest in World Cup history, featuring 48 teams and 104 matches.
Morocco’s journey in the World Cup will be at the stadium that will hold the last match of the tournament, the final, in addition to other defining moments of the competition such as the semi-final.Â
MetLife Stadium
The Atlas Lions will kick off their campaign against Brazil at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. With a capacity of more than 82,000 spectators, the venue is one of the jewels of the tournament.
The stadium will not only host Morocco’s highly anticipated clash with the Seleção but will also stage the 2026 FIFA World Cup final on July 19. Eight matches are scheduled to be played at the venue, making it one of the tournament’s central stages.
AT&T Stadium
Located in Arlington, Texas, the AT&T Stadium is the largest venue of the tournament, capable of hosting around 94,000 fans. The stadium will stage nine matches, including one of the two semi-finals.
Its massive size and state-of-the-art facilities make it one of the flagship venues of the World Cup.
Mercedes-Benz Stadium
Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium is among the most modern football venues in the world. Known for its retractable roof and spectacular 360-degree video board, it will host several major fixtures, including a World Cup semi-final.
Hard Rock Stadium
The Hard Rock Stadium in Miami will host seven matches, including the third-place play-off. The venue recently welcomed major international sporting events and is expected to be one of the busiest locations during the tournament.
Estadio Azteca
The legendary Estadio Azteca in Mexico City will once again make history. The iconic stadium, which witnessed Pelé’s Brazil triumph in 1970 and Diego Maradona’s Argentina success in 1986, will host the tournament’s opening match between Mexico and South Africa on June 11.
It became the first stadium in history to host World Cup opening matches in three different editions: 1970, 1986, and 2026.
BC Place
Canada’s opening World Cup atmosphere will be centered around BC Place in Vancouver. The stadium will host key matches involving the Canadian national team and serve as one of the country’s two tournament venues.
Toronto’s BMO Field, the smallest stadium of the competition, has been expanded specifically for the World Cup and will also play an important role in hosting matches.
Other key venuesÂ
Several additional stadiums will contribute to the spectacle of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, NRG Stadium in Houston, Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Levi’s Stadium near San Francisco, Gillette Stadium near Boston, Lumen Field in Seattle, BBVA Stadium in Monterrey and Akron Stadium in Guadalajara.
Collectively, these stadiums will host the biggest World Cup in history.Â
What stadium to pay attention to firstÂ
For Moroccan supporters, attention is currently focused on MetLife Stadium, where the Atlas Lions will face Brazil in one of the most anticipated matches of the group stage.
However, with the tournament spread across some of the world’s most impressive sporting venues, the 2026 FIFA World Cup promises to deliver unforgettable moments from the opening whistle in Mexico City to the final one in New Jersey.
