The project aligns with Morocco’s broader efforts to strengthen its healthcare sector and position itself as a regional hub for health innovation.
The joint venture is expected to operate in October 2026, with its first solutions scheduled for deployment in the same month. Initial operations will cover several healthcare facilities across Morocco by 2027 before expanding to other African countries during a second phase.
Its activities will span the entire healthcare value chain, including medical research, clinical AI, telemedicine, biomedical engineering, biosurveillance, emergency management, home hospitalization, public health initiatives, and HealthTech startup incubation.
“This partnership reflects our commitment to bringing together academic, clinical, and scientific excellence with technological innovation capabilities to accelerate the transformation of the healthcare system and sustainably strengthen the Kingdom’s health sovereignty,” said Professor Lahcen Belyamani, Chairman and CEO of FM6SS.
Partnership built on three pillars
The partnership is structured around three strategic pillars: research and public health, modernization of clinical practices, and the development of a HealthTech industrial ecosystem.
For the research and public health pillar, the venture plans to advance applied research in artificial intelligence, precision medicine, and the One Health approach.
The partners aim to support more than 50 research programs and produce over 100 international scientific publications and communications by 2030. The initiative also includes the establishment of an African Epidemiological Observatory by the end of 2026.
In the area of clinical practice modernization, the venture strives to expand telemedicine services and immersive healthcare training programs.
By 2030, it aims to train more than 100,000 healthcare professionals in AI technologies, deploy digital solutions across hundreds of healthcare institutions, and facilitate more than 25 million cumulative teleconsultations and tele-expertise services.
The third pillar focuses on building a Moroccan HealthTech, MedTech, and Biotech ecosystem capable of competing internationally.
Plans include supporting more than 100 innovative startups, fostering African technology champions, and contributing to the creation of over 50 patents and intellectual property assets.
Mohamed Benouda, Chairman and CEO of ABA LIFE, described the agreement as a significant milestone in the development of future healthcare systems.
“The next generation of healthcare systems will rely on the convergence of medicine and engineering, artificial intelligence, and augmented healthcare operations. This partnership with FM6SS is a structuring step towards developing solutions from Morocco that can meet tomorrow’s healthcare challenges at the national, African, and international levels,” he explained.
Designed and operated from Morocco, the platform aims to serve healthcare professionals, researchers, students, entrepreneurs, and policymakers while strengthening the country’s role in Africa’s growing health innovation landscape.
