Fez – Two people were killed after a small aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff on Sunday in Al Hoceima, northern Morocco, while operating a flight from France to the Casablanca region.
The aircraft was flying from Montpellier, France, to Tit Mellil near Casablanca, with a scheduled stop in Al Hoceima, when it crashed moments after takeoff.
According to local authorities, the plane was carrying two foreign nationals: the pilot and a female passenger.
Both were rushed to Mohammed VI Provincial Hospital in Al Hoceima, where they were pronounced dead.
The circumstances surrounding the crash were not immediately clear, and no information was released on the cause of the accident or the identities of the victims.
Emergency services and local authorities quickly responded to the scene.
An investigation is expected to determine the circumstances that led to the crash.
The incident has shocked residents of Al Hoceima, a coastal city in northern Morocco that serves as an important gateway between the country and Europe, particularly during the summer travel season.
