Rabat – As Morocco prepares for one of its biggest matches in World Cup history, head coach Mohamed Ouahbi insists there will be no changes to the Atlas Lions’ approach ahead of the quarterfinal against France.
Speaking during the pre-match press conference, Ouahbi stressed that consistency has been one of Morocco’s greatest strengths throughout the tournament and said his technical staff has no intention of abandoning the methods that brought the team this far.
“Our approach must always remain the same if we want to produce our best performances,” Ouahbi said.
“The way we work every day, whether it’s analyzing matches or preparing for them, does not change, whether we are facing France in a World Cup quarterfinal or Burundi in a friendly.”
The Moroccan coach explained that maintaining the same routines helps create confidence and stability within the squad, allowing players to focus entirely on their performances rather than the magnitude of the occasion.
“I believe this is one of the keys to success because it allows every player to stay focused,” he said.
“It is important to build consistent habits within the group, and we are approaching this match with a great deal of calm.”
Morocco heads into the encounter seeking another historic result after securing a place in the World Cup quarterfinals for the second consecutive tournament. The Atlas Lions have impressed throughout the competition with disciplined performances and a clear tactical identity under Ouahbi.
The highly anticipated clash against France also marks a rematch of the nations’ memorable 2022 World Cup semifinal, where Les Bleus ended Morocco’s historic run in Qatar.
The match kicks off today at 9:00 p.m. (GMT+1) at Boston Stadium and will be officiated by Argentine referee Facundo Tello. A place in the World Cup semifinals awaits the winner.
