Rabat – The World Cup run by the Moroccan national team has been showcased through FIFA’s performance rankings, with Noussair Mazraoui, Ismael Saibari, and Yassine Bounou all being recognized in the list of top performers in the tournament.
Based on individual performances at their respective positions, with the help of different metrics, the three Moroccan footballers have been awarded recognition for their contributions to taking Morocco to the quarter-finals of the tournament.
Ismail Saibari is one of the most impressive players in the central midfield positions in the tournament so far, ranking 14th among attacking players with a mark of 6.51.Â
The goalkeeper of Morocco, Yassine Bounou is ranked 10th among goalkeepers with 7.12 due to his important saves that have contributed to Morocco’s progression to the quarter-finals.
Noussair Mazraoui has been ranked 3rd in overall defending with an impressive tournament rating of 7.50. The Manchester United full-back has been one of the tournament’s definitive standouts after shutting down world-class wingers.Â
The three Atlas Lions are among an exclusive set of players identified through the FIFA performance model that rates players based on their individual positions rather than giving an all-encompassing rating.
This is indicative of the good performance of Morocco in this World Cup, where the Atlas Lions have continued to prove themselves as one of the best-performing sides in the competition.
