Rabat – Bayern Munich is awaiting the results of medical tests on Moroccan international Ismael Saibari after the muscle injury he sustained during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which forced him to miss Morocco’s quarter-final against France.
According to German newspaper Kicker, Saibari will return to Munich in the coming days to undergo detailed tests on his hamstring. The examinations will determine the severity of the injury, the expected recovery period, and his rehabilitation program.
The report added that Bayern Munich is prioritizing the player’s full recovery and will not rush his return. The club’s medical staff has yet to decide whether Saibari will travel with the squad for the club’s pre-season tour of Asia.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his return date, the initial signs are encouraging. Bayern remain optimistic that the Moroccan midfielder will be fit for the start of the Bundesliga season, even if he misses part of the pre-season preparations or the Asian tour.
Saibari joined Bayern Munich earlier this summer following an impressive campaign with Morocco at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Head coach Vincent Kompany is expected to rely heavily on the 25-year-old attacking midfielder in the upcoming season as the Bavarian club prepares to compete for domestic and European titles.
