Casablanca – Vozinha, without a club since the end of his contract with Chaves (Portuguese D2), has emerged as a target for the famous Chilean first division club, Colo-Colo.
The Cape Verdean goalkeeper’s top-class performances drew attention to Cape Verde’s run at the World Cup. The goalkeeper, currently without a club since the end of his contract with Chaves (Portuguese second division), opened up about his future. Fresh off a stunning World Cup, the 40-year-old made it clear he wants to keep playing on the professional stage.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the veteran shot-stopper, who has played for Chaves in the Second Division for the past two seasons, is open to a move to Chilean club Colo-Colo.
Before talks with Colo-Colo, the player was also proposed to Brazilian clubs, including Atlético-GO, AvaÃ, and Ceará. However, none of the teams made a formal move.
A destination which would appeal to Vozinha, who has no plans to hang his boots anytime soon: “At 40 years old, with the same passion, I want to play for another one or two seasons. It all depends on how my body reacts, because you never know what the future holds, but I want to play,” he stated during his appearance on CBS.
