Meknes – Redouane Halhal is expected to leave KV Mechelen this summer following a strong season in Belgium. The Moroccan defender has caught the eye of several clubs in France and Italy after a string of impressive performances.

According to Belgian football journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the 23-year-old player is eager to seek out a new challenge. Halhal will start the next chapter of his professional career, with his camp actively exploring options that will allow him to test himself in a different league.

“Redouane Halhal heading for a departure from KV Mechelen this summer!” Tavolieri wrote on X on Sunday.

“The Moroccan wants to take the next step in his career, and several clubs, notably Italian and French ones, are expected to position themselves on the file in the coming weeks” he added.

During the 2025–26 Belgian Pro League season, the center-back established himself as a pillar in KV Mechelen’s backline by making 33 league appearances. While anchoring the defense, he also contributed offensively with one goal and two assists.

On the international stage, Halhal was part of the Morocco squad that featured at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The defender gained valuable tournament experience as the Atlas Lions put together a strong run, before exiting in the quarter-finals following  2-0 defeat to France.

Having proven himself both in the Belgian league and on the world stage, Halhal’s departure marks the end of a successful chapter with KV Mechelen. Now, all eyes will be on where the promising Moroccan center-back lands for the next phase of his career.
