Rabat – The Casablanca Stock Exchange opened in negative territory on Monday, with its main MASI index falling 0.74% to 17,709.78 points.
The decline came after the market ended Friday’s session with a loss of 1.18%. Early trading showed mixed performances across individual stocks and sector indices.
The MASI Mid and Small Cap index, which tracks the performance of small and mid-sized companies, slipped 0.04% to 1,751.2 points.
Meanwhile, the MASI 20 index, which includes the 20 most liquid stocks on the market, stood at 1,313.55 points. The MASI ESG index, which tracks companies with the highest ESG ratings according to Moody’s ESG Solutions, reached 1,259.25 points.
Among the biggest losers in early trading were CTM, down 5.86% to MAD 835 ($89.46), followed by Microdata, which fell 5.74% to MAD 706 ($75.61). Disway dropped 3.64% to MAD 74 ($7.92), while Ib Maroc.com lost 3.39% to MAD 57 ($6.11). Afriquia Gaz also moved lower, declining 1.32% to MAD 3,651 ($387.17).
On the gaining side, Holcim Maroc recorded the strongest performance, climbing 4% to MAD 1,769 ($189.46). Cartier Saada rose 3.54% to MAD 24.85 ($2.66), while Auto Hall gained 3.08% to MAD 67 ($7.18). Managem advanced 2.48% to MAD 12,400 ($1,328.04), and Ciments du Maroc increased 2.42% to MAD 1,649 ($176.61).
