Meknes – Real Madrid have agreed personal terms with RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande after Paris Saint-Germain withdrew from the race.
The Ivory Coast winger is now set for a move to the Spanish capital worth over £100m, coming just a week after Leipzig rejected a massive £102.5m offer from PSG.
The 19-year-old Ivorian star was also a prime target for Liverpool, though Leipzig rejected their £69m opening offer back in June.
Liverpool shifted their focus elsewhere, while PSG pulled back, unwilling to compete with Real Madrid.
According to BBC Sports, personal terms have now been agreed with Madrid on a contract modeled after Jude Bellingham’s, complete with performance bonuses and year-on-year raises.
Real Madrid have reportedly agreed to pay over £100m to secure the signing of Diomande, who only arrived at Leipzig from Spanish side Leganés last summer on a five-year contract.
The BBC report indicates that top Real Madrid negotiators José Ángel Sánchez and Juni Calafat have monitored Diomande for roughly five years, building their interest on long-term scouting rather than recent World Cup performances.
The Paris-based club was leading the chase for the Ivorian before Real Madrid stepped in, leading the French club to officially bow out on Sunday.
The decision to abandon the chase came down to strict financial discipline from the French champions.
“The asking transfer fee and salary demands were completely disproportionate and distortive – and PSG will not break its principles of rational financial management and squad balance,” the Parisien club confirmed.
With personal terms agreed and a fee exceeding £100m set, Diomande is now expected to complete his medical in the coming days before officially finalizing his move to the Spanish capital.
His arrival marks another major investment in top young talent for Real Madrid, adding one of Europe’s most exciting wingers to an already stacked attacking line-up.
