Agadir – Moroccan police have found a 34-year-old Norwegian tourist who had been reported missing by his family after he disappeared during a holiday in the North African country.
According to Moroccan security services, police in Agadir, working in coordination with their counterparts in Marrakesh, successfully located the Norwegian national after an intensive search.
The search was launched after police in Marrakesh received a missing person report from the tourist’s family. The family alerted authorities after he failed to board his scheduled flight back to Norway and could no longer be reached by phone.
Following the report, security services in Marrakesh coordinated with police in Agadir to determine the tourist’s location.
Authorities ultimately found the Norwegian tourist staying at a hotel in Agadir. Police confirmed that he had not been harmed and that there were no indications of any criminal activity linked to his disappearance.
The tourist was subsequently referred to the Regional Judicial Police Service in Agadir to complete the legal procedures associated with the missing person investigation.
The procedures include officially informing his family in Norway that he has been safely located, bringing the search operation to a successful conclusion.
