Rabat – King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, presided over the swearing-in ceremony of officers graduating from Morocco’s major military and paramilitary schools and institutes on Friday at the Mechouar Square of the Royal Palace in Tetouan.
The ceremony was held as part of the celebrations marking the 27th anniversary of the Sovereign’s accession to the Throne.
The King was accompanied by Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and Prince Moulay Rachid.
The King named the promotion “Laayoune,” honoring the capital of Morocco’s southern provinces.
In his address, the Sovereign called on the newly commissioned officers to embody the values of sacrifice, loyalty, patriotism, and dedication to the Kingdom’s national constants, describing Laayoune as a symbol of development and progress.
The King also congratulated the graduates on completing their training and reaffirmed Morocco’s commitment to strengthening its military and security institutions through modern equipment, advanced training, and improved social conditions for personnel.
The ceremony brought together graduates from the Royal Military Academy, the Royal Air Force Academy, the Royal Naval Academy, and the Royal School of Military Health Service. It also included those from several paramilitary institutions, including the Royal Police Institute, the Royal Institute of Territorial Administration, the National School of Civil Protection, the Mohammadia School of Engineers, the National Forestry School of Engineers, the Customs Training Institute, and the Mohammed VI International Academy of Civil Aviation.
Following the swearing-in ceremony, King Mohammed VI reviewed the graduating detachments and presented epaulettes to officers promoted in 2026.
The King received the Promotion Commission at the Royal Palace in Tetouan, where he approved the annual promotion lists for personnel of the Royal Armed Forces, the Royal Gendarmerie, the Royal Guard, and the Auxiliary Forces.
He also instructed that his congratulations be conveyed to all newly promoted personnel and urged them to continue serving the nation under the Kingdom’s motto: “God, Country, King.”
The ceremony was attended by the Head of Government, the presidents of both Houses of Parliament, royal advisors, members of the government, senior military officials, foreign military attachés accredited to Rabat, and other civilian and military dignitaries.
