Casablanca – The second round of the 2026/27 Botola Pro offered an early glimpse of how the new season could take shape, with defending champions Maghreb de Fès maintaining their perfect start while Raja Casablanca and Wydad AC both collected important victories.
MAS moved to the top of the standings after beating Hassania Agadir 2-1 at El Bachir Stadium in Mohammedia on Saturday. Anas El Mahraoui opened the scoring in the 27th minute before South African forward Tshegofatso Mabasa converted a penalty shortly before halftime. Imad Riahi pulled one back for Hassania from the spot in the 56th minute, but the Fès side held on for a second consecutive victory.
The result leaves MAS on six points, level with Union Touarga, who also remain perfect after two matches. Hamza Regragui scored the only goal in Touarga’s 1-0 victory over Widad Témara on Friday, finding the net in the 44th minute.
Raja, meanwhile, finally began their league campaign after their opening fixture against AS FAR was postponed. Back in front of their supporters at the Mohammed V Stadium, the Green Eagles defeated Renaissance Zemamra 1-0 through Othmane Chraibi’s 27th-minute finish following a pass from Mohamed Boulacsout.
Across Casablanca’s red half, Wydad produced the response they needed after beginning the season with a 3-1 defeat to Widad Témara. Paulo Sergio’s side travelled to El Jadida and beat Difaâ Hassani El Jadidi 2-0, with Oussama Zemraoui opening the scoring after 27 minutes and Silvère Ganvoula adding the second in the 59th. The result gave Wydad their first league victory since June.
Kawkab Marrakech also picked up their first points following an opening-day defeat. Saleh Essalami struck in the 83rd minute to secure a 1-0 away victory over COD Meknès.
Elsewhere, newly promoted Amal Tiznit earned their first top-flight victory through Zakaria Salhi’s second-half goal against FUS Rabat, leaving the capital club without a point after two rounds.
The northern derby produced the round’s only draw, with Moghreb Tétouan taking the lead through Karmoun before Najari responded for Ittihad Tanger in a 1-1 finish.
The round remains incomplete, with Renaissance Berkane’s meeting with AS FAR postponed. The military club has now seen both of its opening league fixtures delayed because of international call-ups.
