Rabat – AC Milan are reportedly considering a move to bring Moroccan international Brahim Diaz back to San Siro as the club continues its search for an attacking midfielder ahead of the 2026–27 season.
According to Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, Milan have revived their interest in the 26-year-old after failing to secure highly rated Greek prospect Konstantinos Karetsas, who opted to join Borussia Dortmund.
Diaz enjoyed a successful three-year spell with Milan between 2020 and 2023 while on loan from Real Madrid, establishing himself as an important member of Stefano Pioli’s squad.
The Moroccan playmaker made 124 appearances across all competitions during his time in Milan, scoring 18 goals and registering 15 assists.
He also played a key role in helping Milan lift the 2021–22 Serie A title, earning praise for his creativity, technical ability, and versatility in the attacking third.
Although Diaz remains under contract with Real Madrid until June 2027, uncertainty surrounding his role at the Spanish club has fueled speculation over his future. Steep competition for places in Madrid’s attacking lineup has prompted several European clubs to monitor Diaz’s situation.
The Moroccan midfielder has previously been linked with a move to Juventus, but recent reports suggest the Turin club has shifted its attention elsewhere.
Meanwhile, Milan view Diaz’s familiarity with the club, the league, and the expectations of Italian football as a major advantage should they decide to pursue a reunion.
While no formal negotiations have been confirmed, the possibility of Diaz returning to San Siro remains under consideration as Milan look to strengthen their squad before the summer transfer window closes.
