Rabat – Prince Moulay Hicham has announced the birth of his first grandchild, a baby boy named Mohammed.
The child was born to the prince’s daughter, Faiza, and her husband, Nabil Rachdi, on July 27 at the Royal Palace in Rabat.
In a social media post, Prince Moulay Hicham expressed his happiness over the birth and prayed for his grandson to grow up in good health and bring joy to his parents and family.
He said he would remind his grandson that being born at the Royal Palace was a “generous blessing” that should inspire him to serve his country, society, and family.
The prince explained that the name Mohammed was chosen in honor of the Prophet Mohammed and King Mohammed VI.
Prince Moulay Hicham also said that his family is expecting another grandchild, as his daughter Hajar is due to welcome a baby in the coming period.
He concluded his message by wishing everyone good health and well-being.
Prince Moulay Hicham is the cousin of King Mohammed VI and the son of the late Prince Moulay Abdallah, the younger brother of the late King Hassan II. He is known for his public writings and commentary on political and social issues in Morocco and the wider Arab world.
