Meknes – Real Madrid have secured Vinicius Junior’s future by extending the Brazilian winger’s contract through June 2032, the club announced on Thursday, ending months of transfer speculation.
The 26-year-old winger had entered the final year of his deal, drawing transfer interest from English outfit Arsenal.
Real Madrid confirmed the news in an official statement on Thursday, expressing their satisfaction at keeping the Brazilian international at the Bernabeu.
“Real Madrid C. F. and Vinicius Jr. have agreed on the extension of our player’s contract, which links him to the club until June 30, 2032 ,” the club stated.
“Vinicius Jr. has become one of the most important players in one of the most successful periods in our history,” they added.
The Brazilian forward took to social media shortly after signing to celebrate his long-term commitment to the Spanish giants.
“Eight years at the Bernabeu are too short… Six more years, and then forever,” Vinicius wrote on Instagram.
Since arriving from Brazilian club Flamengo in 2018, Vinicius has established himself as a central pillar of Real Madrid’s attack.
Over that span, the winger has delivered an impressive tally of 128 goals and 100 assists across all competitions.
The forward has also built an impressive trophy cabinet, capturing two Champions League titles and three La Liga crowns alongside numerous other honors.
Reports in Spain and England had previously indicated that contract talks between Vinicius and Real Madrid were taking longer than expected.
The delay allowed Premier League champions Arsenal to monitor the winger and explore a potential summer transfer.
Securing the Brazilian international’s future marks another major milestone in a busy transfer window for Real Madrid.
The Spanish giants have already bolstered their squad for the upcoming season, bringing in winger Yan Diomande, midfielder Bernardo Silva, defender Ibrahima Konaté, and full-backs Marc Cucurella and Denzel Dumfries.
