Meknes – RS Berkane have officially confirmed the signing of Abdelghafour Lamirat from Wydad AC. The former Wydad player joins the club as part of their latest roster updates during the current transfer window.
Lamirat has put pen to paper on a three-year contract with the Oranges, bringing his time with Wydad to an end after just one season. The move marks a fresh start as he officially closes his chapter with the Red Castle.
RS Berkane announced the player’s arrival across their official social media channels, captioning the post: “Welcome, Lamirat! Abdelghafour Lamirat is Orange for three seasons!”
The transfer follows Lamirat’s absence from Wydad’s pre-season camp. With the deal now agreed upon by both management teams, RS Berkane adds valuable depth to its roster for the challenges ahead.
Playing mainly in a defensive midfield role, he brings tactical discipline to the squad through his ability to win back possession and contribute defensively off the ball.
The 28-year-old player joined Wydad AC in the summer of 2025 from Olympique de Safi. Before his move to Safi, he also spent time playing for CIS Marrakech and Chabab Ben Guerir.
His performances with the Safi-based club caught the attention of Wydad AC, leading the Casablanca side to sign him in the summer of 2025.
In his 2025/26 campaign with Wydad, Lamirat featured in 20 league matches and accumulated 1,475 minutes of playing time, though he finished the season without any goal contributions.
The move to RS Berkane offers the midfielder a chance to restart his momentum and command a more prominent role on the pitch.
