Rabat – Moroccan teenager Mayssa Baha has been called up to train with FC Barcelona Femeni’s first team as part of the club’s pre-season preparations, marking another significant moment in the rapid rise of one of Morocco’s most promising young footballers.
At just 15 years old, the forward will join the senior squad for pre-season training after impressing throughout Barcelona’s youth ranks, where her performances have continued to attract attention.
The news was shared by her mother, Farah Farabian, who expressed the family’s pride as Baha prepares to train alongside some of the biggest names in women’s football.
Baha, the daughter of former Morocco international Nabil Baha, has already built an impressive resume despite her age.
She represented Morocco at the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, hosted on home soil, becoming the tournament’s youngest player at just 14 years old.
She announced herself on the international stage with a brace in Morocco’s 3-1 victory over Costa Rica, helping the Atlas Lionesses qualify for the round of 16.
Her development has continued in Spain, where she has been one of Barcelona’s standout academy players. Earlier this year, she scored twice for the Catalonia U16 regional side in a 6-1 victory over the Valencian Community in the semi-finals of Spain’s regional championship.
Barcelona’s decision to include Baha in the senior team’s preparations reflects the club’s confidence in her long-term potential.
While the call-up does not necessarily signal an immediate first-team debut, it offers the young Moroccan valuable experience training in one of the strongest women’s squads in world football.
For Morocco, the latest milestone is another encouraging sign for a player already regarded as one of the country’s most exciting emerging talents, as Baha continues to take significant steps in her development at one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
