Morocco Introduces New Measures to Ease Retirement, Survivor Pension Procedures

Retirement

Agadir – The Moroccan Pension Fund (CMR) has announced new measures to simplify procedures for retirement and survivor’s pension files, following the issuance of Circular No. 8/2026 by the Head of Government.

The circular is part of ongoing efforts to reform public administration, simplify administrative procedures, and accelerate the digital transformation of public services.

“Within the framework of ongoing efforts to reform the administration, simplify administrative procedures, and digitally transform public services, the Head of Government has issued Circular No. 8/2026 on simplifying the procedure for managing retirement files administered by the Moroccan Pension Fund (CMR),” the CMR said in a statement issued Monday.

The new circular reinforces Circular No. 7/2019, which introduced the electronic management of retirement files, marking a further step toward improving services for CMR members, pensioners, and beneficiaries.

According to the CMR, the measures were developed through cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform as part of broader efforts to modernize public administration and advance the digitalization of public services.

The initiative also aligns with the CMR’s digital transformation strategy and its 2025-2027 Strategic Action Plan, which prioritize improving the user experience, digitizing procedures, and enhancing operational efficiency.

Under the new measures, the number of documents required for certain retirement and survivor’s pension applications will be reduced by making greater use of data already held by relevant public administrations and strengthening electronic information exchanges.

The changes are expected to reduce the need for applicants to travel, speed up the processing of files, and improve the quality and accessibility of services provided to future retirees and beneficiaries.

The CMR said it is working with partner administrations and organizations to progressively implement the new measures.

The fund added that the initiative reflects its commitment to continuously improving its services and making them simpler, more accessible, and more responsive to users’ needs.
