Rabat – Cristiano Ronaldo is nearing a return to action with Al-Nassr after missing the Saudi club’s opening matches of the new season.

The Portuguese forward returned to Al-Nassr training last week after more than a month away, with the club’s fitness coach working to prepare him for the upcoming matches, Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiyah reported.

He had been away from Al-Nassr since Portugal’s exit from the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Portuguese star missed Al-Nassr’s Roshn League opener, a 3-0 victory over Al-Fateh last Saturday, and is also absent from the club’s King’s Cup clash with Al-Diriyah in the round of 32.

Ronaldo completed a 90-minute fitness session at Al-Nassr’s training center in Riyadh as he continues to build up his fitness ahead of his comeback.

According to GOAL, Ronaldo could return when Al-Nassr face Al-Riyadh in the second round of the Saudi Pro League. The match is scheduled for August 21.

Al-Riyadiyah reported that Ronaldo has retained his physical fitness despite the rest he took following his participation in the 2026 World Cup, while the club’s fitness coach has prepared a special program to get him ready for upcoming matches.

Ronaldo remains a key figure for Al-Nassr after helping the club secure the Saudi Pro League title last season. The Portuguese star will now look to regain full match fitness.
