Casablanca – Morocco is set to host a packed schedule of international football during September’s FIFA window, with 10 African national teams reportedly choosing the Kingdom as the venue for their official matches.

According to Moroccan outlet Almountakhab, the teams have turned to Moroccan stadiums after their home venues failed to secure approval from the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The countries involved are Mauritania, Niger, Lesotho, Central African Republic, Liberia, Benin, Togo, Guinea, Madagascar, and Somalia.

Their decision will see Morocco host a series of official fixtures during the international break as the teams continue their campaigns in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The growing number of African teams choosing Morocco reflects the country’s increasing role as a host for international football, with its stadiums meeting the technical and infrastructure requirements set by CAF.

Morocco has increasingly provided venues for national teams unable to stage matches at home, offering both modern facilities and the logistical capacity required for international fixtures.

According to Almountakhab, the September window could therefore turn Moroccan stadiums into a temporary hub for African football, with multiple national teams relying on the Kingdom to fulfil their home fixtures.

The development comes as Morocco continues to strengthen its sporting infrastructure ahead of major international tournaments, including preparations linked to the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which it will co-host with Spain and Portugal.

The exact venues and dates for the visiting teams’ matches are expected to be confirmed once the official fixture schedule is finalized.
