Rabat – Morocco head coach Mohamed Ouahbi is expected to announce his squad for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Gabon and Lesotho on September 17, according to Moroccan newspaper Al Mountakhab.
The announcement will mark Ouahbi’s first squad selection for the Atlas Lions following the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The coach and his technical staff have been monitoring Moroccan players both domestically and abroad before making their final decisions.

The camp begins on September 21
Morocco’s training camp is scheduled to begin on September 21 at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maâmoura.
The first days of the camp will focus on helping the players build chemistry while also working on their physical and tactical preparation.
The timing of the camp will give Ouahbi only a short period to prepare his squad before Morocco’s opening qualifier against Gabon.
