Rabat– Crystal Palace have completed the signing of Moroccan defender Taha Majni from Botola Pro side Union Touarga, with the teenager set to initially link up with the English club’s Under-21 squad.
Despite his age, Majni arrives in London with experience at senior level, having featured 17 times for Union Touarga’s first team. He made 13 starts during the 2025-26 campaign, building experience in Morocco’s top flight.
The move follows a breakthrough period for the defender on the international stage. Majni was part of Morocco’s Under-20 squad that lifted the FIFA U-20 World Cup, adding a major international achievement to his early career.
Rather than immediately competing for a place in Palace’s senior squad, Majni will continue his development with the Under-21 team. His senior experience in Morocco, however, gives the English club a player who has already been exposed to first-team football.
Majni’s departure further proves Union Touarga’s growing reputation as a launching pad for young Moroccan talent.
The Botola club has seen several of its players attract interest from European clubs during the current summer transfer window.
Moroccan forward Tawfik Bentayeb has recently joined Belgian side Anderlecht, while midfielder Adam Baallal also completed his first professional contract with French club Saint-Etienne.
Majni now becomes the latest Touarga player to take his career abroad, with Palace providing the teenager with an opportunity to continue his development within the English football system.
