Safi – Crystal Palace are in advanced talks to sign Moroccan defender Taha Majni, African outlet Africa Foot reported.
The same report stated that the south London club is working out the details of a deal with Union Touarga. It added that Majni may have undergone physical and medical tests supervised by Crystal Palace representatives.
Majni, 18, has been part of Union Touarga’s first-team squad since July 2025. He can play in the center of defense or at right-back, a versatility scouts value. He won the under-20 World Cup with Morocco last year and has since earned two caps at under-23 level. Transfermarkt values him at €500,000 (MAD 5.6 million).
Union Touarga recently extended his contract by five seasons, the same report said. A longer deal strengthens the Moroccan club’s position in any negotiation.
Touarga’s European pipeline
Majni is the latest of several players at the Botola Pro side to attract attention from Europe this summer.
Striker Tawfik Bentayeb is nearing a move to Anderlecht, while midfielder Adam Baallal signed his first professional contract with AS Saint-Etienne this month.
No fee has been reported, and Britain’s major football outlets have not carried the talks.
Neither Crystal Palace nor Union Touarga has publicly commented on the reported interest.
