Meknes – Moroccan prospects Safouane Benzahra and Nahel Haddani have taken a major step toward senior football after securing their first professional deals at AS Monaco on Tuesday.
The French club announced the signings alongside first professional deals for two other academy graduates.
Since joining Monaco’s academy from NAC Breda in the summer of 2025, Benzahra has made an immediate impact.
The attacking midfielder quickly established himself as a core figure for the U19 squad, recording eight goals in 16 appearances.
The 18-year-old earned a spot in the senior squad during pre-season, featuring in several friendlies before making his competitive debut in the UEFA Conference League play-offs against Górnik Zabrze.
After featuring in both legs of that tie, Benzahra made his Ligue 1 debut in Monaco’s impressive 2–1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain.
On the international stage, Benzahra has been a regular fixture in Morocco’s youth setup.
The Moroccan international has already featured forMorocco’s U17 and U18 national teams. He was recently called up to the Atlas Lions’ U20 squad.
Haddani also joined Monaco’s academy in the summer of 2025, arriving from Saint-Clément.
The young forward earned the move following a standout final season with his former club, where he netted 22 goals in the French U17 league.
The Moroccan international carried that form into his debut season at Monaco, playing a central role in the U19s’ run to the national semi-finals.
The 17-year-old capped his debut season with 14 goals in 22 appearances.
Haddani also announced himself during the 2025 U17 World Cup, playing a major role in Morocco’s quarter-final run.
The Moroccan forward directly contributed to four goals in the tournament, finishing with three strikes and an assist for the Atlas Cubs.
