Agadir – Morocco’s La Voie Express Group, a subsidiary of H&S Group, will invest MAD 100 million ($10.7 million) to develop a new logistics platform in Lqliaa, south of Agadir, as part of its plan to expand its logistics network across the country.
The group released on Friday a press statement announcing its signing of an agreement with the Moroccan Logistics Development Agency (AMDL) to acquire a 25,000-square-meter plot in the Lqliaa Logistics Zone. The project will become the company’s second logistics site in the Agadir region, the group detailed.
New logistics platform
The planned facility will combine warehousing, order preparation, value-added logistics services, transportation, and regional distribution.
The platform will serve manufacturers, distributors, and retailers by providing several logistics services at one location, La Voie Express said, stressing that the project will support the movement of goods in Souss-Massa, a region with major agricultural, fishing, commercial, and distribution activities.
According to the group, the investment will also create around 100 direct and indirect jobs.
Lqliaa zone expands logistics capacity
The Lqliaa Logistics Zone is located south of Agadir and is part of Morocco’s efforts to develop logistics infrastructure across different regions.
The first phase covers 45 hectares and includes plots for warehousing as well as a truck terminal with capacity for 200 vehicles. Launched as part of the AMDL’s program to expand Morocco’s logistics zones and strengthen infrastructure outside the country’s main economic centers, the zone is ultimately designed to handle up to 2 million tons of goods annually.
La Voie Express expands national network
The Lqliaa investment is an integral part of La Voie Express Group’s wider strategy to build a network of regional logistics platforms.
The group already operates facilities in Oujda, Nador, Tangier, and Khouribga, in addition to the Casa Hub and Lakhyayta Hub. The new project will expand its presence in southern Morocco.
La Voie Express’ ultimate plan is to continue expanding its network closer to production and consumption centers across Morocco, the group stressed in its press statement.
“We are proud to realize this investment in Lqliaa,” it concluded. “Agadir and the Souss-Massa region occupy a strategic place in the national economy, and we want to build a modern platform there, serving businesses and the region.”
