Rabat – Achraf Hakimi moved into PSG’s record books on Saturday after making his 215th official appearance for the club against Le Mans.
The Moroccan became Paris Saint-Germain’s most-capped foreign full-back when he captained the club in their 3-1 Ligue 1 victory over Le Mans at the Parc des Princes.
According to statistics cited by Goal and Stats Foot, the Moroccan surpassed former Brazilian left-back Maxwell, who played 214 official matches for PSG between 2012 and 2017.
The 27-year-old started the match before Desire Doue replaced him in the 72nd minute. Lucas Beraldo, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Maghnes Akliouche scored for PSG in the 3-1 win.
The record attests to Hakimi’s hard work within the French club since his arrival from Inter Milan in July 2021.
PSG extended his contract until 2029 last year and described him at the time as one of Luis Enrique’s vice-captains. His role has continued to grow since then, both on the pitch and within the squad’s leadership group.
Hakimi has also been part of one of the most successful periods in PSG history. The club won its first Champions League title in 2025, with the Moroccan scoring the opening goal in the 5-0 final victory over his former side Inter Milan. PSG retained the European title in 2026.
Saturday’s victory also moved PSG to 11 points from six Ligue 1 matches. After the weekend’s fixtures, the defending champions sit sixth in the table.
Hakimi’s next opportunity to add to his appearance tally will come in Europe when he takes the stage for PSG against Manchester City in the Champions League on Wednesday.
