Casablanca – Netflix has secured exclusive broadcast rights for the 2030 FIFA World Cup in Spain and Andorra, the streaming platform announced on Tuesday.
The agreement covers all 104 matches of the centenary tournament, which Morocco will co-host with Spain and Portugal.
Netflix plans live coverage throughout the competition, alongside pre-match, halftime and post-match programming, daily roundups and additional content ahead of the tournament.
Spain enters 2030 as the defending world champion after beating Argentina in the 2026 final. Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria said the company wants to bring Spanish supporters closer to a tournament their country will stage four years after lifting the trophy.
The deal will not place every match entirely behind a subscription in Spain. Netflix said one game from each matchday will be available free of charge, while a national free-to-air broadcaster will receive a package that includes every Spain match, both semifinals and the final. The company has not yet named that broadcaster.
The 2030 World Cup will begin on June 8 with centenary celebrations in South America and conclude on July 21.
Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay will each stage one commemorative match before the main part of the competition shifts to Morocco, Spain and Portugal. FIFA says the three primary hosts will stage 101 of the tournament’s 104 matches.
Netflix already has a growing relationship with FIFA. It holds US and Canadian rights to the 2027 and 2031 Women’s World Cups, while the new agreement represents a major expansion into the men’s tournament.
What does the deal mean for Morocco?
Netflix’s agreement covers Spain and Andorra only and does not extend to Morocco, despite the North African country’s status as one of the three main 2030 World Cup hosts. Netflix said it will stream all 104 matches in the two territories, while one match per matchday will also be available free in Spain.
The company made no announcement regarding broadcast rights in Morocco.
FIFA awards World Cup media rights by territory, which means Morocco’s broadcast arrangements will be handled separately from the Spanish market.
No official announcement has yet identified the broadcaster that will carry the 2030 tournament in Morocco.
