Rabat – Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad have reportedly submitted a $25 million offer to Real Madrid for Moroccan international Brahim Díaz, seeking to take advantage of the midfielder’s limited playing time under head coach José Mourinho.
According to transfer reports published on Sunday and Monday, including information attributed to journalist Ekrem Konur, the Saudi club is interested in signing the 27-year-old as it looks to strengthen its attacking options.
The reported offer comes amid increasing competition for places in Real Madrid’s squad, where Díaz has struggled to secure regular minutes this season.
However, the Moroccan international is reportedly reluctant to leave the Spanish capital, preferring to remain at Real Madrid and compete for a more prominent role in Mourinho’s plans.
Neither Real Madrid nor Al-Ittihad has publicly confirmed the reported offer.
Díaz faces competition for playing time
Díaz has found opportunities limited at Real Madrid despite making a promising start to the season.
The Moroccan international impressed during Madrid’s 2-1 Champions League victory against Inter Milan, providing an assist for Kylian Mbappé and creating several opportunities.
However, his playing time subsequently declined, with Spanish newspaper AS reporting that persistent muscular discomfort has affected him, although he has continued training and remains available for selection.
The winger faces competition from several attacking players, including Vinicius Junior, Arda Güler, Yan Diomandé and Endrick.
Despite the situation, Díaz has remained involved with Morocco’s national team, scoring during September’s 2-0 victory over Lesotho in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Real Madrid face decision over Díaz’s future
The Moroccan international’s publicly listed contract runs until June 30, 2027, although Spanish media have previously reported an agreement to extend his stay until at least 2030.
According to AS, the proposed extension had been agreed between the player and Real Madrid but had not been officially announced.
Díaz returned to the Spanish club in 2023 after spending three seasons on loan at AC Milan, where he helped the Italian side win the Serie A title in 2022.
His future could attract further attention ahead of the January transfer window, particularly if his playing time remains limited.
For now, however, reports indicate that Díaz wants to continue his career at Real Madrid, leaving any potential transfer dependent on the player’s decision and the Spanish club’s willingness to negotiate
