Rabat – Arsenal are reportedly considering a €60 million move for Moroccan international Brahim Díaz as they look to strengthen their attacking options during the January 2027 transfer window.
According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has identified the Real Madrid winger as a priority target ahead of the winter transfer window. The report claims that Arteta has proposed Díaz as a potential addition to the Premier League club’s squad for the second half of the season.
Arsenal are reportedly prepared to pursue the deal to meet their manager’s request. However, no official offer or agreement has been confirmed.
Diaz struggles for playing time at Real Madrid
Diaz has struggled to secure regular minutes since the beginning of the 2026-27 season. The 27-year-old has made five appearances across all competitions, accumulating 198 minutes without scoring, while providing one assist, according to the report.
His limited involvement has reportedly pushed him down the pecking order among Real Madrid’s attacking options, with Kylian Mbappé, Vinícius Júnior, and Yan Diomande among the players competing for attacking roles.
The situation could increase the possibility of a January departure if the Moroccan continues to struggle for opportunities.
Arsenal could offer Diaz a Premier League return
A potential move to Arsenal would mark a return to English football for Diaz, who began his professional career at Manchester City.
The Moroccan made 15 appearances for the Manchester club before joining Real Madrid in 2019 in a transfer reportedly worth €5 million.
A move to the Emirates Stadium could offer Diaz an opportunity to secure more regular playing time in the Premier League. However, the reported €60 million proposal remains speculative, and his future at Real Madrid has yet to be officially clarified.
